294 special trains for Sabarimala
The Railways have decided to run 294 special trains in order to manage the rush at Sabarimala this year.
A special meeting was held at Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting was presided over by Manoj Sinha, the Joint Minister for the Railways. The meeting was attended by Vashisht Johari, the General Manager of Southern Railways, and Sunil Bajpai, the Regional Manager of the Thiruvananthapuram region.
It was decided at the meeting to run 294 special trains to handle the Sabarimala crowds. If needed, more trains will also be run. Around the Makara Vilakku days, special no-reservation trains will be run. Additional ticket counters and ticket vending machines will be opened to manage the rush of devotees. Also, additional security measures, medical facilities, and prepaid auto and taxis will be provided to the devotees.
